A letter to my fallen colleague

Hey Cass,

We had some good times, didn’t we?

For twenty marvellous years we worked together. We were ambitious. Remarkably successful. We explored the universe and left an unrivalled legacy.

I planned your death three times.

And that last time, when we finally killed you… I felt an odd mixture of exhilaration and sorrow as I saw you burn. The whole world watched as you took that final plunge.

Now every night, with a sad smile, I gaze up at space. I like to think that a tiny part of you – mere fragments, perhaps – lives on, forever.

Caressed by Saturn.

You could certainly see your expertise in the work you write.
