Harry stood beside Maddie’s Hospital bed.
She looked so peaceful laying there, so still, so quiet.
Yesterday she was full of life, full excitement. But that seemed like a lifetime ago now. Harry couldn’t help but blame himself. He was the one driving, he was the one who lost concentration.
Now he had to say goodbye to the girl he never got the chance to say he loved. Harry thought he had plenty of time but time had run out and she would never know.
He kissed Maddie goodbye.
But she couldn’t feel it as he was no longer flesh.
