I was shaking as I sat in the doctor’s surgery.
I could feel my hands were drenched with sweat.
The doctor called my name.
The doctor introduced herself as Dr Curtis.
Dr Curtis looked at me as if she recognised me, like I was familiar to her.
As I sat down near her desk, I could see pictures of her young family. Her eyes were on me, studying me, trying work out how she knew me.
Almost begging me to solve this riddle.
But I had lost my nerve, I couldn’t bring myself to tell her that she was my daughter.
