Rodney (father) and Ethan (son) decided to become novel writers. Our focus was delivering our stories as web novels for free, which is an odd strategy given web novels are free to read.
Still, it made sense to us so we are running with it.
Our plan is simple, we write two or three novels each per year, deliver them as web novels, and work on providing such good stories that a few people will pay us anyway. We love writing stories, we want as many people as possible to read them, while finding a way to make this our career.
The belief is do what you love, and earn from it.
Our first story is Draconic Ripples. A stand alone novel that has potential to continue if people want more.
We are developing other stories that focus on werewolves, neo steam punk, super heroes, and AI.
Each type of story has a different take on how they are typically developed because, while we enjoy these types of stories, some of them are, in our opinion, restricted.
For example, current werewolf novels are more like romance novels. No offence to romance novels, but we prefer to highlight the terror of werewolves and how they affect society.
As for Ethan and Rodney.
Ethan is 18 years old (as of 2026) and Rodney is 58.
Ethan is going to begin a bicycle ride around Australia at the end of 2026 (why he will do this is a story in its own right) and Rodney plans to move to Samoa in 2028.
Our family, together and independently, plan to use novel writing to provide for our needs while finding ways to make the world a slightly better place with our excess income.
